Well, it's finally springtime, which means we can all smile again. I think I have put my smile into some recent project I have been working on that have been a long time coming. Leather tooling is something I have always been interested in, and have dabbled in for the last 5 or 6 years, never getting too serious about it. I think it is time for that to change a little bit, so I have been making some purses with tooled flaps and some sweet tooled bracelets. Leather 'tooling' is a way of decorating leather that is usually associated with western wear and saddlery. Using a special knife to carve into the leather, stamps are then used to shape and add texture to the piece. This can only be done on fully vegetable tanned leather, the stuff that is tanned for about 6 months in a vat of oak bark juice.
I hope that you enjoy looking as much as I have enjoyed making these pieces. They will be available in the shop soon, but each one will be a one of a kind unique piece.

The thinner bracelets will be $20 each, and the wider are $30. If you are in SLO, stop by and pick one up! The retail shop is coming along, and is open for business!
